AI-Driven Personalization for ecommerce brands
Nacelle is an AI-driven personalization platform for e-commerce brands that solves the “anonymous visitor challenge” by using behavioral data to create meaningful customer segments. Unlike traditional personalization tools that only work well for logged-in users, Nacelle’s AI assistant Paige analyzes shopping patterns and creates segment-specific product recommendations that work for all visitors from their first click.
Their platform uses smart URLs that tag incoming traffic with segment parameters, allowing for immediate personalization without requiring personal identification. When visitors arrive through these tagged links (from ads, influencer campaigns, etc.), they see product recommendations tailored to their segment, dramatically improving conversion rates and average order values. The system continuously learns from aggregate behavior patterns, automatically optimizing without requiring merchants to maintain complex manual rules.
Our partnership with Nacelle shows what happens when you test something completely different with cold outbound. They came to us with a brand new product – personalization for Shopify Plus stores and wanted to try getting prospects to sign up for free trials instead of just booking meetings.
We started targeting Shopify Plus merchants in fashion, home goods, and health & beauty. Early on, Brian was worried we were getting too granular with our targeting, which created some early friction as we figured out the right approach together.
Things clicked when we landed a solid early opportunity that showed this model could work. That win got Nacelle to upgrade to full-service just 15 days after launch. What really made the difference was focusing on quality prospects and keeping our message simple – instead of pitching features, we talked about using AI to boost conversion rates.
The hybrid approach we built worked great for their market. Smaller merchants could jump straight into the free trial, while bigger prospects ($25M+ revenue) got
the option of either trying the product or meeting with Nacelle directly. This gave us flexibility to capture interest at different levels while they learned more about the market from every conversation.
In our first month, we’ve booked 10 meetings for Nacelle. With solid results and a clearer picture of their ideal customers, we’re excited to keep scaling this approach.
